The United States and Brazil hold the top spots, with a total death toll of 641,346 and 571,662, respectively. India, the center of the Delta variant spread, is in third place with 433,063 deaths. This is followed by Mexico with 250,469 deaths, Peru with 197,539 deaths, and Russia with 172,909 deaths. Italy has recorded 128,579 deaths, and Colombia 123,781 deaths.
Indonesia currently has 343,203 active cases, an increase of 15,154 from the previous day. However, the number of recovered patients also increased by 29,794, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 3,443,903. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is 3,908,247, an increase of 15,768 from the previous day.
To prevent the further spread of COVID-19, public participation is crucial in prevention efforts by intensifying the 3M movement. This movement includes wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and washing hands with running water. The public is also urged to reduce mobility and avoid crowds. Furthermore, the government needs to intensify the 3T strategy: testing, tracing, and treatment.
