To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, currently 146 regencies/cities are aggressively conducting specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Thursday, July 14, 2022, shows the national average examination is 165.54 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Kediri (982 specimens), Klaten (980 specimens), Sukoharjo (974 specimens), Wonosobo (937 specimens), and Mojokerto (932 specimens).
Kediri ranks first, with 982 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0.52 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Klaten, which examined 980 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 1.04 percent, higher than the previous week's ratio.
Following is Sukoharjo, with a population of 903,750, which examined 974 specimens per week. Wonosobo examined 937 specimens per week, and Mojokerto examined 932 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid data recapitulation, 184 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 143 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Manokwari (896 specimens), Manado (867 specimens), and Tarakan (864 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
