Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 151 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average in the last week. As of Thursday, September 1, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 161.99 people per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of people tested in the last week, are Jepara (994 people), Sukabumi (973 people), Yogyakarta City (931 people), Jombang (921 people), and Bandar Lampung City (920 people).
Jepara ranks first, with 994 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 1.61 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Sukabumi, where 973 people were tested per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 3.08 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Yogyakarta City recorded 931 tests per week, Jombang 921, and Bandar Lampung City 920.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 127 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of people tested daily in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 249 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested in the last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested last week include Bandar Lampung City, Padang City, and Gianyar, with 920, 708, and 704 people tested, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
