According to a Populix survey, 3 out of 4 Indonesian Muslim respondents frequently access media during Ramadan.

The majority, or 87%, of respondents reported using social media most often during Ramadan. Furthermore, 70% of respondents admitted to frequently using video streaming services such as YouTube.

Next, 49% of respondents said they often watch television during Ramadan, followed by 46% who said they frequently use video-on-demand (VoD) services like Netflix during Ramadan.

Additionally, 37% of respondents reported frequently using podcast services, followed by accessing online news sites (34%) and news applications (27%).

Meanwhile, the proportion of those accessing the conventional media of newspapers during Ramadan was the lowest, at only 9% of respondents.

This online survey was conducted from February 22-25, 2024, involving 1,029 Muslim respondents. The majority of respondents were from Java (82%), followed by Sumatra (12%), and other islands (6%).

Respondents were predominantly young people aged 17-25 years (40%), and 26-30 years (22%), with a majority being single (51%) and married with children (40%). Occupationally, most respondents were employees (59%), followed by students (14%) and entrepreneurs (14%).
