The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 110 districts/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 3.12 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Sunday, September 11, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 48.08 per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, South Tangerang, South Jakarta, Teluk Bintuni, and West Jakarta, with values of 57.13, 56.74, 54.17, 52.07, and 48.08 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java have decreased. A daily increase in confirmed positive cases was recorded in 51 districts/cities, while 72 districts/cities recorded a decrease in confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Teluk Bintuni, Tomohon City, and Manado City, with confirmed positive cases of 52.07, 36.22, and 18.67 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
