According to Statistics Indonesia, there were 11,874 healthcare facilities in Indonesia in 2021. This number increased by 1.27% compared to the previous year, which was 11,724 units.
The details are as follows: there were 8,905 polyclinics throughout Indonesia. This number decreased by 0.53% compared to 2020, which was 8,858 units.
West Java recorded the highest number of polyclinics, with 1,772 units. This was followed by East Java and Central Java with 1,263 units and 1,198 units, respectively.
Next, there were 2,617 hospitals in the country. This number increased by 5.90% compared to the previous year, which was 2,471 units.
East Java had the highest number of hospitals, with 424 units. This was followed by West Java and Central Java with 321 units and 288 units, respectively.
Furthermore, there were 352 maternity hospitals in Indonesia. This number decreased by 10.88% compared to the previous year, which was 395 units.
East Java recorded the highest number of maternity hospitals, with 103 units. DKI Jakarta and West Java each had 54 units and 53 units, respectively.
