Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 140 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Monday, November 21, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 7.55 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Semarang, Purwakarta, Ciamis, Badung, and Balikpapan City, with ratios of 163.41 percent, 132.64 percent, 129.47 percent, 105.55 percent, and 83.42 percent, respectively.
Semarang ranks first. The weekly percentage of people tested there was recorded at 163.41 percent. The latest positive rate is 3.67 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Purwakarta. The population of this region is recorded at 960,820 people. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested was 132.64 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 5.03 percent, or higher than the previous week's percentage.
Then, Ciamis recorded 129.47 percent testing; the weekly percentage of people tested in Badung was recorded at 105.55 percent; and Balikpapan City recorded 83.42 percent testing.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 162 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 179 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week's testing.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Badung, Balikpapan City, and Sikka, with weekly percentages of 105.55 percent, 83.42 percent, and 53.73 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
