To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, 152 districts/cities are currently aggressively conducting Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Monday, November 28, 2022, shows a national average of 139.93 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest, are Gresik, Semarang, Cimahi City, Pekanbaru City, and Indramayu, with weekly test numbers of 974, 964, 936, 911, and 872 respectively.
Gresik ranks first, with 974 tests conducted last week. The latest positive rate is 14.37 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Semarang, which conducted 964 tests last week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 2.8 percent, also down from the previous week.
Cimahi City recorded 936 tests per week, Pekanbaru City 911, and Indramayu 872.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact across various regions, based on national Covid data, 272 districts/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of weekly tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 87 other districts/cities recorded a lower number of weekly tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of weekly tests include Pekanbaru City, Bandar Lampung City, and Batam City, with 911, 840, and 839 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
