The COVID-19 Task Force report shows that mask compliance was below 75% in red and orange zones, reaching only 16% during the period of August 16-22, 2021. This amounts to 60 regencies/cities out of 374.
The number of regencies/cities in red zones (mask compliance below 60%) reached 26. This is a decrease of 10 areas compared to the previous week, which had 36 regencies/cities.
Furthermore, the number of regencies/cities in orange zones (mask compliance 61-75%) was 34. This is a decrease of 12 areas compared to the previous week, which had 46 regencies/cities.
Meanwhile, the number of regencies/cities in yellow zones (mask compliance 76-90%) was 96. This is a decrease of 18 from 114 areas the previous week.
Conversely, the number of regencies/cities in green zones (mask compliance 91-100%) was 218. This is an increase of 29 areas compared to the previous week, which had 189 regencies/cities.
The use of masks, especially double-layered masks or N95 type, is crucial in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. Therefore, the public is urged to wear masks when engaging in outdoor activities. In addition, the public is encouraged to maintain physical distancing, wash hands with soap, avoid crowds, and limit mobility.
