Most Residents Disagree with Vaccine and Covid-19 Test Requirements for Travel

A survey by Media Survei Nasional (Median) shows that 53.4% of Indonesians disagree with making COVID-19 vaccines and tests a requirement for intercity travel. This breaks down to 43.5% of respondents disagreeing and 9.9% strongly disagreeing.

15.3% of respondents agreed with the requirement. This includes 1% who strongly agreed and 14.4% who agreed. Meanwhile, 10.7% of respondents stated they didn't know or didn't answer.

The requirement for COVID-19 vaccines and tests for intercity travel is in effect during the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), as stipulated in the Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs Instruction Number 39 of 2021.

Under these regulations, intercity travelers must show proof of at least one dose of the vaccine. They must also present a negative PCR test result (H-2) for air travel and a negative antigen test result (H-1) for private cars, motorcycles, buses, trains, and sea vessels.

Median conducted the survey among 1,000 respondents from August 19-26, 2021. The survey used a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of approximately 3% and a 95% confidence level.
