The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Magetan (969 specimens), Tulungagung (959 specimens), Banda Aceh City (931 specimens), Ternate City (929 specimens), and Sorong City (925 specimens).
Magetan is ranked first. With a population of 637,110, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 969 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.34 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Tulungagung. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined is 959 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 1.09 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Banda Aceh City recorded 931 specimens per week, Ternate City recorded 929 specimens per week, and Sorong City, with a population of 282,370, recorded 925 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 156 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 151 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Banda Aceh City, Ternate City, and Sorong City, with 931, 929, and 925 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
