Based on national Covid-19 data, 123 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. As of Friday, January 13, 2023, the national average was 119.81 specimens per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Bandar Lampung City (993 specimens), Cimahi City (934 specimens), Kediri (930 specimens), Cirebon (914 specimens), and Cilegon City (851 specimens).
Bandar Lampung City ranks first, with 993 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0.68 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Cimahi City, with a population of 613,240. To combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 934 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate was 2.2 percent, also lower than the previous week's ratio.
Kediri examined 930 specimens per week, Cirebon 914 specimens per week, and Cilegon City 851 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact across various regions, national Covid-19 data shows that 111 regencies/cities actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 124 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of specimens examined include Bandar Lampung City, Deli Serdang, and Batam City, with 993, 849, and 830 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
