At that time, Palu's air quality was categorized as good, meaning pollutant levels in Palu's air were very minimal. Banjarmasin was second with an air quality index of 25. Ambon followed in third place with an air quality index of 30.

2. Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan): 25
3. Ambon (Maluku): 30
4. Mempawah (West Kalimantan): 33
5. Banda Aceh (Aceh): 45
6. Padang (West Sumatra): 46
7. Balikpapan (East Kalimantan): 50
8. Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi): 53
9. Palembang (South Sumatra): 54
10. Cilacap (Central Java): 55
Although these cities had the cleanest air quality nationally, not all cities had good air quality.
Based on the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 14 of 2020 concerning the Air Pollutant Standard Index, KLHK classifies air quality index as follows:
* 0-50: Good
* 51-100: Moderate
* 101-200: Unhealthy
* 201-300: Very Unhealthy
* 300+: Hazardous
This means that on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 6:00 AM WIB, cities with good air quality were Palu, Banjarmasin, Ambon, Mempawah, Banda Aceh, Padang, and Balikpapan. The other three cities, Kendari, Palembang, and Cilacap, had moderate air quality.
