As of Tuesday, July 6, 2021, 14,357,113 people in Indonesia have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. This number is equivalent to 42.9% of the total number of people who have received the first dose, which is 33,488,253.
A total of 1,563,961 health workers, or 106.5% of the target, have received the first dose of the vaccine. Of this number, 1,422,072 health workers, or 96.8% of the target, have also received the second dose.
Public officials who have received the first dose of the vaccine total 17,486,649, or 100.9% of the target. 8,418,554 of them, or 48.6% of the target, have also received the second dose.
Meanwhile, the vaccination rate for the elderly remains relatively low. The number of elderly people who have received the first dose is 4,933,616, or 22.9% of the target. The number of elderly people who have received the second dose is 2,905,561, or 13.5% of the target.
The government continues to strive to increase vaccination coverage among the population. President Joko Widodo aims to reach 2 million vaccinations per day in August 2021. After that, the target will increase to 5 million vaccinations per day.
Although the vaccination program is underway, the public still needs to implement the 3M protocol: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. The 3M protocol is effective in preventing the spread of the coronavirus among the community.
