Today's COVID-19 Provincial Data Update: Jakarta Records Highest Increase (Wednesday, January 25, 2023)

Indonesia today recorded an additional 274 Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 6.73 million as of Wednesday, January 25, 2023. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases today are DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Central Java, and East Java.

1. DKI Jakarta recorded an increase of 87 cases

DKI Jakarta is ranked first. The increase in cases here was 87, or a 0.01 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which reached 1.54 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in DKI Jakarta is now 1.54 million.

In addition to the highest increase in cases, DKI Jakarta also recorded one death. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in DKI Jakarta has reached 15,930. The seven-day positive rate in DKI Jakarta is 2.09 percent, while the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) for Covid-19 hospitals is reported at 3.74 percent.

2. West Java recorded an increase of 63 cases

West Java is ranked second. The increase in Covid-19 cases here was 63. The seven-day positive rate in this region is 1.61 percent. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of Covid-19 tests in this province is recorded at 29.36 per week.
3. Banten recorded an increase of 27 cases

The third highest increase in cases is in Banten. In this province, the increase in cases today was 27, or a 0.01 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 365,760. The trend of case development in this region over the past week has decreased. This can be seen from the lower confirmation rate per 100,000 population compared to the previous week. 4. Central Java recorded an increase of 19 cases

The fourth highest increase in cases is in Central Java. In this province, the increase in cases today was 19, or a 0 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 655,860.
