The Indonesian Ministry of Health released data showing that 69.28 million doses of booster vaccines have been administered in Indonesia as of Monday, August 21, 2023. This figure represents 38.16 percent of the national COVID-19 vaccination target. The national target for COVID-19 vaccination is 234.66 million doses. The daily increase in COVID-19 booster vaccinations nationwide yesterday was recorded at 52 doses.
Based on provinces, West Java still holds the top position with the highest number of booster vaccine recipients nationally, reaching 15.58 million doses. Within West Java, Bogor Regency has the highest number of booster vaccine recipients with 1.6 million doses. Following are Bandung Regency (1.1 million doses), Bekasi Regency (993,010 doses), Bekasi City (982,880 doses), Cianjur Regency (913,680 doses), and Bandung City (901,850 doses).
East Java is in second place, with 9.47 million booster vaccine doses administered. Within East Java, Surabaya City has the highest number of booster vaccine recipients, with 1.32 million doses.
Central Java is in third place with 8.65 million booster vaccine doses administered. This is followed by Jakarta, North Sumatra, and Banten, with 5.41 million, 4.22 million, and 3.01 million booster vaccine doses administered respectively.
