To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, 170 regencies/cities have aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data as of Saturday, June 4, 2022, shows a national average of 191.19 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Malang City (978 people), Cilacap (972 people), Yogyakarta City (972 people), South Minahasa (954 people), and Sragen (944 people).
Malang City ranks first. With a population of 884,360, 978 people were tested per week. The latest positive rate is 0.72 percent, lower than the previous week.
Next is Cilacap. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 972 people were tested per week. The positive rate is 0.93 percent, higher than the previous week.
Following are Yogyakarta City, with a population of 449,890, recording 972 Covid-19 tests per week; South Minahasa with 954 tests per week; and Sragen with 944 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid data, 190 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 179 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the last week compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests per week include South Minahasa (954 people), Kupang City (905 people), and Jayapura City (853 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
