Based on national Covid-19 data, 137 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen testing above the national average. As of Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the national average was 154.01 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Cimahi City, Magetan, Wonosobo, Padang City, and Ciamis, with 995, 984, 983, 982, and 916 specimens per week, respectively.
Cimahi City ranks first. With a population of 610,490, it recorded 995 specimens tested per week. The latest positive rate is 10.09 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Magetan. With a population of 637,110, it tested 984 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Its positive rate is 5.17 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Following this are Wonosobo with 983 specimens per week, Padang City (population 997,360) with 982 specimens per week, and Ciamis with 916 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 137 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimens tested than before. Meanwhile, 161 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens tested compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens tested include Padang City, Tarakan City, and Gianyar, with 982, 910, and 884 specimens, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
