Indonesia's Active Covid-19 Cases Top Asia at 573,900 (Monday, July 26, 2021)

Indonesia recorded 573,900 active Covid-19 cases. This figure keeps Indonesia as the country with the highest number of active Covid-19 cases in Asia on Monday, July 26, 2021.

India, which had experienced a surge in cases, was in second place with 417,200 active cases. This was followed by Iran with 345,800, Thailand with 167,100, and Malaysia with 160,900 active cases.

Furthermore, 83,300 people have died from the virus. Meanwhile, 2.5 million patients have recovered. As a result, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia reached 3.2 million, an increase of 38,700 cases from the previous day.

Due to the still high risk of Covid-19 transmission, the government officially announced an extension of the Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) from July 26 to August 2, 2021. However, there are some adjustments to community activities and mobility, making them less strict than before.

The public is urged to adhere to health protocols (prokes), namely wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with running water. They are also urged to avoid crowds and reduce mobility.
