Based on national Covid-19 data, 149 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly suspect testing exceeding the national average. As of April 2, 2023, the national average was 9.28 percent. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the total number of people tested in each region, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Mandailing Natal, Bima, Kota Bima, Subang, and Kota Padangsidimpuan, with ratios of 81.82 percent, 74.85 percent, 71.88 percent, 58.63 percent, and 57.89 percent, respectively.
Mandailing Natal ranks first. With a population of 463,910, its weekly suspect testing percentage is 81.82 percent. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Bima. This region has a population of 520,990. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect testing percentage is 74.85 percent. The positive rate in this region is 0 percent, also down from the previous week.
Then, Kota Bima recorded 71.88 percent testing, Subang recorded 58.63 percent, and Kota Padangsidimpuan recorded 57.89 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 37 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher weekly percentage of suspect testing than before. Meanwhile, 49 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of suspect testing compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage ratios include Mandailing Natal, Bima, and Kota Bima, with weekly suspect testing percentages of 81.82 percent, 74.85 percent, and 71.88 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
