This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Teluk Wondama, Tarakan City, Jayapura City, Manokwari, and Fakfak, with ratios of 982.86 percent, 956.02 percent, 869.81 percent, 852 percent, and 836.9 percent respectively.
Teluk Wondama ranks first. With a population of 34,898, the weekly percentage of people tested is recorded at 982.86 percent. The latest positive rate is 1.16 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Tarakan City. The population of this region is recorded at 267,270. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 956.02 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 1.06 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Jayapura City recorded 869.81 percent testing, Manokwari, with a population of 176,240, recorded 852 percent weekly testing, and Fakfak recorded 836.9 percent weekly testing.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 358 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 28 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Teluk Wondama, Tarakan City, and Jayapura City, with weekly percentages of 982.86 percent, 956.02 percent, and 869.81 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
