At that time, Manado's air quality was categorized as "good," indicating very minimal air pollutants. Palu followed in second place with an air quality index of 21, and Mamuju was third with an index of 25.
Below is a complete list of the 10 cities with the cleanest air quality in Indonesia according to the KLHK on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 6:00 AM WIB:
1. Manado (North Sulawesi): 20
2. Palu (Central Sulawesi): 21
3. Mamuju (West Sulawesi): 25
4. Ambon (Maluku): 29
5. Palembang (South Sumatra): 35
6. Gorontalo (Gorontalo): 40
7. Banda Aceh (Aceh): 45
8. Padang (West Sumatra): 46
9. Gresik (East Java): 50
10. Kotawaringin Timur (Central Kalimantan): 51
While these cities have the cleanest air quality in Indonesia, not all cities have good air quality.
Based on the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 14 of 2020 concerning the Air Pollutant Standard Index, the KLHK classifies the air quality index as follows:
* 0-50: Good
* 51-100: Moderate
* 101-200: Unhealthy
* 201-300: Very Unhealthy
* 300+: Hazardous
Therefore, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 6:00 AM WIB, cities with good air quality were Manado, Palu, Mamuju, Ambon, Palembang, Gorontalo, Banda Aceh, Padang, and Gresik. One other city, Kotawaringin Timur, had moderate air quality.
