The top five, starting from the highest, are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Balikpapan, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta, with respective figures of 5.13 people per 1,000 population per week, 4.69 people per 1,000 population per week, 4.33 people per 1,000 population per week, 3.37 people per 1,000 population per week, and 3.31 people per 1,000 population per week, respectively.
South Jakarta ranks first. The number of people tested there is recorded at 5.13 per 1,000 population per week. The latest positive rate is 6.81 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Central Jakarta. The population of this region is recorded at 913,720. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested was 4.69 per 1,000 population per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 8.59 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Balikpapan, with a population of 646,020, recorded 4.33 Covid-19 tests per 1,000 population per week. East Jakarta recorded 3.37 people tested per 1,000 population per week, and North Jakarta recorded 3.31 Covid-19 tests per 1,000 population per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 114 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 198 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested include Balikpapan, Mimika, and Badung, with 4.33, 3.08, and 2.86 people tested, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
