Data as of Monday, April 4, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 96.59 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to the weekly target of each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest weekly testing percentage, are Badung (937.91%), Balikpapan City (915.37%), Bontang City (841.76%), Mimika (816.96%), and East Jakarta City (726.16%).
Badung is ranked first. With a population of 727,950, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 937.91 percent. The latest positive rate is 2.04 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Balikpapan City. The population in this region is recorded at 646,020. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 915.37 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 1.24 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, the weekly testing percentage in Bontang City is recorded at 841.76 percent. Mimika, with a population of 221,810, has a weekly testing percentage of 816.96 percent, and East Jakarta City has a weekly testing percentage of 726.16 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 243 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 141 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week's testing.
Areas outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratio include Badung, Balikpapan City, and Bontang City, with weekly testing percentages of 937.91 percent, 915.37 percent, and 841.76 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
