Based on national Covid-19 data, 158 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests above the national average. Data from the week of June 19, 2022, shows a national average of 0.94 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of tests per 1,000 people per week, are South Jakarta (8.19 people), Central Jakarta (8 people), East Jakarta (5.14 people), Balikpapan (5.03 people), and Badung (5.03 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 8.19 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 6.3 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 8 tests per 1,000 people per week were conducted. The positive rate is 4.61 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Following this, East Jakarta recorded 5.14 tests per 1,000 people per week, Balikpapan 5.03, and Badung 5.03.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 110 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily test numbers than before. Meanwhile, 237 other regencies/cities recorded lower test numbers compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests include Balikpapan (5.03 people), Badung (5.03 people), and Sorong (4.33 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
