Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 177 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Saturday, May 28, 2022, shows a national average of 219.85 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Blitar (975 people), Sragen (971 people), Kendal (970 people), Manado City (969 people), and Majalengka (964 people).
Blitar ranks first, with 975 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 0.31 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Sragen, with a population of 890,090. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 971 people were tested per week. The positive rate is 0.21 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Kendal recorded 970 tests per week; Manado City, with a population of 433,880, recorded 969 tests per week; and Majalengka recorded 964 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 69 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 310 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests per week include Manado City, Kutai Timur, and Mimika, with 969, 949, and 915 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
