Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 159 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data from the week of July 3rd, 2022, shows a national average of 156.83 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Bandung Barat (953 specimens), Serang City (952 specimens), Tarakan City (946 specimens), Demak (938 specimens), and Wonosobo (935 specimens).
Bandung Barat ranks first, with 953 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 1.87 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Serang City, with a population of 718,430. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 952 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 1.45 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Tarakan City recorded 946 specimens examined per week; Demak, 938 specimens; and Wonosobo, 935 specimens.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 106 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 188 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of specimens examined include Tarakan City (946 specimens), Metro City (832 specimens), and Banjarbaru City (819 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
