Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 106 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. As of Saturday, March 11, 2023, the national average examination was recorded at 94.65 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Garut, Denpasar City, Kediri, Gresik, and Makassar City, with weekly specimen numbers of 938, 906, 807, 793, and 781 specimens respectively.
Garut is ranked first, with 938 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 1.79 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Denpasar City. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, 906 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region was recorded at 1.03 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined in Kediri was recorded at 807 per week, Gresik at 793 specimens per week, and Makassar City at 781 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 89 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported daily specimen examination numbers higher than before. Meanwhile, 133 other regencies/cities recorded lower specimen examination numbers compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Denpasar City, Makassar City, and Bandar Lampung City, with 906, 781, and 764 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
