Hospital occupancy rates in these three provinces remain above 80%.

The Ministry of Health recorded that three provinces still had hospital bed occupancy rates (BOR) for COVID-19 treatment above 80% as of July 29, 2021. These three provinces are Bangka Belitung, Yogyakarta, and East Kalimantan.

In detail, the hospital BOR in Bangka Belitung was recorded at 85%. Of the 589 hospital beds available in the province, 509 units were used for COVID-19 treatment.

In Yogyakarta, the hospital BOR reached 84%. This means that 1,815 of the 2,164 available beds were used for COVID-19 treatment.

Then, the hospital BOR in East Kalimantan was 82%. Of the 2,985 available beds, 2,434 units were used for COVID-19 treatment.

Furthermore, 29 provinces had a hospital BOR in the range of 41%-79%. Meanwhile, Aceh and Maluku had a hospital BOR below 40%.

Nationally, the hospital BOR reached 63%. The BOR for isolation beds reached 62%. Meanwhile, the BOR for intensive care units (ICU) reached 72%.

To reduce the hospital BOR, the spread of COVID-19 must be prevented. This can be done by diligently implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
