Indonesia Ranked 3rd as a Muslim-Friendly Destination

According to the Mastercard-CrescentRating survey titled *Global Muslim Travel Index 2017*, Indonesia ranked third out of 130 Muslim travel market destinations worldwide. Indonesia achieved a score of 72.6, placing it below Malaysia (82.5) and the United Arab Emirates (76.9).

In 2017, Indonesia successfully displaced Turkey from its previous third-place ranking, moving it to fourth position. This result highlights Indonesia's significant presence in the global tourism sector, particularly as a Muslim-friendly country.

The *Mastercard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index 2017* score was based on four strategic criteria: access, environment, communication, and services. While Malaysia remains the top performer, Indonesia also demonstrates improvement. Domestic tourist destinations already boast halal tourism market share infrastructure, such as halal food and the construction of mosques and prayer rooms throughout the Indonesian archipelago.
