The Indonesian Ministry of Health's National Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) shows that the prevalence of stunting in Banten reached 20% in 2022, ranking 23rd highest nationally.
Banten successfully reduced the stunting rate by 4.5 percentage points from the previous year. The 2021 SSGI recorded a stunting prevalence of 24.5% in Banten.
However, five regencies/cities still have a stunting prevalence above the provincial average. The remaining three regencies/cities are below the average stunting prevalence in Banten.
Pandeglang Regency had the highest prevalence of stunting in Banten in the 2022 SSGI, reaching 29.4%. However, this figure decreased by 8.4 percentage points from the previous year's SSGI result of 37.8%.
Serang Regency ranked second with the highest stunting prevalence in Banten at 26.4%, followed by Lebak Regency in third place at 26.2%.
South Tangerang City had the lowest stunting prevalence in Banten at only 9%, followed by Tangerang City with a stunting prevalence of 11.8%.
The following are the stunting prevalence rates in Banten by regency/city in 2022:

3. Lebak Regency: 26.2%
4. Serang City: 23.8%
5. Tangerang Regency: 21.1%
6. Cilegon City: 19.1%
7. Tangerang City: 11.8%
