Despite Emergency PPKM, Most Sub-districts in Jakarta Still Fail to Maintain Social Distancing

Public compliance with social distancing in DKI Jakarta remains low. During the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM), 16 sub-districts had a compliance rate below 60% until July 11, 2021.

Ten sub-districts had social distancing compliance rates between 61% and 75%. Thirteen sub-districts had a social distancing compliance rate of 76%-90%. Only three sub-districts had a social distancing compliance rate above 90%.

However, the majority of sub-districts have implemented good mask usage. Twenty-four sub-districts in the capital city have a compliance rate above 90%.

Sixteen sub-districts have a mask-wearing compliance rate of 76-90%. One sub-district has a mask-wearing compliance rate of 61%-75%. Another sub-district has a mask-wearing compliance rate of less than 60%.

The 3M health protocols—wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap—must be followed by the public when engaging in outdoor activities. This step is effective in preventing the transmission of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
