The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Badung (971 specimens), Kediri City (925 specimens), Deli Serdang (913 specimens), Kediri (864 specimens), and Batam City (823 specimens).
Badung ranks first. With a population of 744,760, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 971 per week. The latest positive rate is 1.1 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Kediri City. The population of this region is recorded at 294,530. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 925 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 1.97 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Deli Serdang recorded 913 specimens examined per week, Kediri 864 specimens per week, and Batam City 823 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 115 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 131 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Badung, Deli Serdang, and Batam City, with 971, 913, and 823 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
