National active Covid-19 cases have continued to decrease since the peak of the third wave on February 24, 2022. At that time, Covid-19 cases reached 586,113, while the Covid-19 Handling Task Force reported that the number of active cases in Indonesia has now decreased to 13,251 as of April 25, 2022.
West Java still has the highest number of active Covid-19 cases, reaching 5,438 cases. This is equivalent to 41.03% of the total national active cases.
Central Java is in second place with 1,929 active Covid-19 cases. Then, in third and fourth place are DKI Jakarta and Lampung with 1,396 and 954 active Covid-19 cases, respectively.
Furthermore, Banten and Riau have 518 and 381 active Covid-19 cases, respectively.
North Sumatra, East Java, and Bali are also among the provinces with the highest number of active Covid-19 cases, namely 321, 270, and 241 cases, respectively. Meanwhile, Yogyakarta has 236 active Covid-19 cases.
The total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indonesia reached 6,044,467 as of April 25, 2022. 2.58% of these cases resulted in death, and 97.19% have recovered.
Although the trend of Covid-19 transmission is decreasing, the public must remain vigilant. Especially with the upcoming Lebaran homecoming, people's mobility outside the home is increasing.
Health protocols must still be followed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. In addition, the public is also encouraged to get booster vaccinations to strengthen immunity and reduce the severity of coronavirus infection.
