Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 148 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average in the last week. Data from the week of September 4th, 2022, shows a national average of 147.9 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Malang, Sukoharjo, Tasikmalaya, Samarinda City, and Sukabumi, with respective weekly test numbers of 990, 985, 972, 958, and 908 people per week.
Malang ranks first, with 990 tests per week recorded in the last week. The latest positive rate is 10.51 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Sukoharjo. This region has a population of 903,750. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 985 tests per week were conducted last week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 5.08 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, 972 tests per week were conducted in Tasikmalaya, 958 in Samarinda City, and 908 in Sukabumi.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 70 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 301 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests last week compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of weekly tests include Samarinda City, Gianyar, and Jambi City, with 958, 673, and 646 tests per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
