Daily Covid-19 Tests Reach New Record of 40,000 People

The Indonesian government conducted COVID-19 tests on 40,012 people on Tuesday (October 13th), marking the highest daily number of tests conducted throughout the pandemic in Indonesia. This figure also surpasses the World Health Organization (WHO)'s target of approximately 38,000 tests per day.

Thus, the total number of coronavirus tests conducted has reached almost 2.4 million people. However, compared to the population, the ratio is only 8,696 people per one million inhabitants. The positivity rate remains at 14.3%.

To curb the transmission of the coronavirus, it is crucial to diligently maintain social distancing, wash hands with soap, and wear masks. To date, no vaccine or cure for coronavirus has been found, therefore, the best defense is disciplined adherence to health protocols.
