An Indonesian Political Indicator survey shows that a majority, or 54.8%, of respondents disagree with the government's plan to provide a third dose, or booster, of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Looking at the basis of support for presidential candidates (capres) in the 2024 Presidential Election, the respondents who tended to disagree most came from supporters of Anies Baswedan.
Specifically, 62.9% of respondents supporting the Governor of DKI Jakarta disagreed with the booster vaccine program. However, 35.4% of respondents agreed with the program, and the remaining 1.7% did not know or did not answer.
Furthermore, 55.4% of respondents supporting Prabowo Subianto disagreed with the plan to provide booster vaccines. 40.6% of respondents supporting the Minister of Defence stated they agreed, and 4% did not know or did not answer.
Meanwhile, respondents supporting Ganjar Pranowo tended to agree with the booster vaccine program, with a percentage of 52%. Disagreement with the booster vaccine program from respondents supporting the Governor of Central Java was recorded at 46.6%, with the remaining 4% of respondents not knowing or not answering.
The Indonesian Political Indicator conducted the survey from December 6-11, 2021, with a sample size of 1,220 respondents. The sampling method used multistage random sampling. The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews. The margin of error is approximately 2.9%, and the confidence level is 95%.
