The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 155 districts/cities with a weekly Covid-19 positive confirmation rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.57 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Sunday, January 8, 2023).
The top five districts/cities with positive confirmation rates exceeding 3.92 per 100,000 population/week are Teluk Wondama, Morowali, Belu, Bekasi, and Tangerang City, with respective rates of 5.61, 4.67, 4.3, 3.92, and 3.92 per 100,000 population/week.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in positive confirmations in most districts/cities outside Java. Twenty-seven districts/cities recorded higher daily positive confirmations than previously, while 32 districts/cities recorded lower positive confirmations.
Areas outside Java with the highest positive confirmation rates include Teluk Wondama, Morowali, and Belu, with respective rates of 5.61, 4.67, and 4.3 per 100,000 population/week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
