The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Ambon City (995 people), Bangka (988 people), Tabanan (981 people), Sorong City (969 people), and Blitar City (959 people).
Ambon City ranks first. With a population of 484,690, the number of people tested in the past week was 995. The latest positive rate is 0.5 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Bangka. The region's population is 341,430. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 988 people were tested in the past week. The positive rate is 8.6 percent, also lower than the previous week's percentage.
Following this, Tabanan conducted 981 tests per week, Sorong City 969, and Blitar City 959.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 154 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the past week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 226 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the past week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested in the past week include Ambon City, Bangka, and Tabanan, with 995, 988, and 981 people tested, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
