This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Purwakarta, Bontang City, Kutai Kartanegara, and Tarakan City, with ratios of 469.72 percent, 258.29 percent, 197.25 percent, 196.84 percent, and 161.65 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 649,420, its weekly testing percentage is recorded at 469.72 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.36 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Purwakarta. This region has a population of 965,370. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 258.29 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.2 percent, also down from the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Bontang City recorded 197.25 percent in weekly testing, Kutai Kartanegara recorded 196.84 percent, and Tarakan City recorded 161.65 percent.
In anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 203 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 151 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Balikpapan City, Bontang City, and Kutai Kartanegara, with weekly testing percentages of 469.72 percent, 197.25 percent, and 196.84 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water.
