The average expenditure of people in Agam Regency for purchasing potatoes in 2023 was Rp2,010.35 per capita per week. This value increased compared to the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp1,645.88 per capita per week.

The five largest expenditures of the population for tubers in Agam Regency, from the highest order, were spent on potatoes at Rp2,010.35 per capita per week, sweet potatoes at Rp301.38 per capita per week, cassava at Rp107.81 per capita per week, taro at Rp54.17 per capita per week, and the lowest was spent on sago (not from cassava) at Rp0.77 per capita per week.

Per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members for a month divided by the number of household members. This expenditure can be grouped into two parts, namely for food and non-food needs.

Based on the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) publication, the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp1.34 million per capita per month in March 2023. This amount increased by 11.94% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.19 million per capita per month.

Based on region, the highest household expenditure for purchasing potatoes was in Tolikara Regency and the lowest in Muna Barat Regency. For Agam Regency, the nominal expenditure for purchasing potatoes was ranked 14th. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure for purchasing potatoes is Rp257.5 per capita per week.
