The top five, starting from the highest, are Tasikmalaya City, East Lombok, Mojokerto, Serdang Bedagai, and Lamongan, with 997, 994, 986, 972, and 957 specimens per week, respectively.
Tasikmalaya City ranks first. With a population of 685,850, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 997 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.6 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is East Lombok. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 994 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, having decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Mojokerto recorded 986 specimens per week, Serdang Bedagai recorded 972 specimens per week, and Lamongan recorded 957 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 154 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 168 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include East Lombok, Serdang Bedagai, and Mimika, with 994, 972, and 913 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
