Based on national Covid-19 data, 153 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly suspect testing exceeding the national average. As of Monday, April 25, 2022, the national average was 5.02%. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected cases and close contacts compared to the total number of people tested in each region, then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage, are Barito Timur (76.23%), Pangandaran (67.34%), Padang Lawas Utara (61.14%), Simalungun (50.12%), and Balangan (45.63%).
Barito Timur ranks first. With a population of 128,130, its weekly suspect testing percentage is 76.23%. The latest positive rate is 1.22%, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Pangandaran. With a population of 407,350, its weekly suspect testing percentage is 67.34% in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate is 0%, a decrease from the previous week.
Following this, Padang Lawas Utara recorded 61.14% testing; Simalungun, with a population of 877,710, recorded 50.12%; and Balangan recorded 45.63%.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact across various regions, based on national Covid-19 data, 174 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported higher weekly suspect testing percentages than the previous week. Meanwhile, 200 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly suspect testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Barito Timur, Padang Lawas Utara, and Simalungun, with percentages of 76.23%, 61.14%, and 50.12%, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
