This week's Covid-19 statistics in Europe show that most countries have recorded a decrease in the number of deaths, a reversal from the previous period where death tolls continued to rise. This week, eight countries still recorded an increase in deaths, while 22 others recorded fewer deaths than the previous week.
In terms of percentage, the top five countries with the highest increase in deaths are Latvia, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, and Hungary. The total number of deaths in these five countries as of Wednesday, November 2, 2022, was 751, with a weekly growth rate exceeding 18.64 percent.
Latvia ranks first, with a weekly increase in deaths of 133.33 percent. Worldometer recorded 14 deaths in this country, an increase compared to the previous week's reported six deaths.
Next is the United Kingdom, which recorded 48.95 percent more deaths than the previous week. The number of deaths in this country was reported as 426, an increase of 426 compared to the previous week's 286. Deaths in Spain increased by 36.56%, deaths in the Netherlands increased by 18.92%, and deaths in Hungary increased by 18.64%.
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the past seven days in Europe occurred in Germany, with 939 deaths. Death reports in this country decreased by 16.16% compared to the previous week. Following Germany, Russia reported 549 deaths (down 12.3%), France reported 485 deaths (down 13.24%), Italy reported 468 deaths (down 16.28%), and the United Kingdom reported 426 deaths (up 48.95%).
The total number of deaths in Europe over the past seven days was 3,803. This accounts for 48.26 percent of global deaths caused by the Covid-19 virus, totaling 7,881. The number of deaths in Europe decreased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 4,448 deaths.
