Based on national Covid-19 data, 137 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data as of Thursday, November 24, 2022, shows a national average of 0.44 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Tangerang, and West Jakarta, with 6.26, 5.96, 4.35, 4.3, and 4.27 tests per 1,000 people per week, respectively.
South Jakarta ranks first, with 6.26 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 26.16 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 5.96 tests per 1,000 people per week were conducted. The positive rate is 28.19 percent, also down from the previous week.
Furthermore, East Jakarta recorded 4.35 tests per 1,000 people per week, South Tangerang 4.3, and West Jakarta 4.27.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 159 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than the previous week. Meanwhile, 162 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, some regions with the highest number of tests include Balikpapan, Badung, and Mimika, with 4.27, 2.92, and 1.89 tests per 1,000 people per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
