The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 56 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.03 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Monday, August 8, 2022.
The five districts/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 0.71 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Bangli, Klungkung, Salatiga City, Gianyar, and Jembrana, with respective rates of 1.3 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 1.1 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 1 death per 100,000 population per week, 0.76 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 0.71 deaths per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Six districts/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death tolls than previously, while three districts/cities recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Bangli, Klungkung, and Gianyar, with respective rates of 1.3 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 1.1 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 0.76 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
