Several districts/cities in North Sumatra province still record relatively low second-dose vaccination rates compared to other areas. Some of these districts/cities include Simalungun Regency, Deli Serdang Regency, and Langkat Regency.
As of today, in the ongoing vaccination program, these three regencies have only completed 2.24 million second doses out of the expected target of 3.08 million vaccine recipients.
Simalungun Regency is ranked first in terms of low vaccination rates. As of yesterday, the second-dose vaccination rate in this region has reached 72.19%. This is the lowest compared to the other 33 districts/cities. The first-dose vaccination rate has reached 84.22%, or 1.35 million vaccine recipients.
This district/city's vaccination program targets 788,360 recipients. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination rate in Simalungun last week was 7,506 recipients. The current vaccine stock is 124,660 doses.
Next is Deli Serdang Regency. For the second dose, this area has the second-lowest rate. With a target of 1.49 million vaccine recipients, 72.72% or 1.08 million recipients have been vaccinated.
The first-dose vaccination rate has reached 87.21%, or 2.62 million vaccine recipients. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination rate in Deli Serdang last week was 4,372 recipients. The remaining vaccine stock is 121,530 doses.
Lastly, Langkat Regency is ranked third. With a target of 805,350 vaccine recipients, 73.24% or 589,870 recipients have received the second dose. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination rate in Langkat last week was 5,455 recipients. The remaining vaccine stock is 221,230 doses.
At the provincial level, the total first-dose vaccination rate in North Sumatra has reached 85.54%, or 11.15 million vaccine recipients. The second-dose vaccination rate has reached 73.19%, covering 9.54 million vaccine recipients.
