Based on national Covid-19 data, 191 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. As of Friday, March 25, 2022, the national average was 214.97 tests per week.
The top five, ranked by the number of people tested per week, are Tabanan (981 people), Tanjung Pinang City (980 people), Sambas (930 people), Kampar (928 people), and Belitung (924 people).
Tabanan ranks first. With a population of 453,920, 981 people were tested in the last week. The latest positive rate is 2.34 percent, lower than the previous week.
Next is Tanjung Pinang City. With a population of 220,650, 980 people were tested in the last week. The positive rate is 13.06 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Following are Sambas (population 545,040, 930 tests last week), Kampar (population 896,680, 928 tests last week), and Belitung (population 192,080, 924 tests last week).
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 174 regencies/cities actively reporting a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 215 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests last week compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some areas with the highest number of tests last week include Tabanan, Tanjung Pinang City, and Sambas, with 981, 980, and 930 tests respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
