Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 164 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Friday, March 25, 2022, shows a national average of 187.74 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Lebak, Sikka, Karimun, Sumenep, and Indragiri Hulu, with 983, 981, 968, 961, and 914 specimens per week, respectively.
Lebak ranks first, with 983 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 3.39 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Sikka, with a population of 324,280. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 981 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 12 percent, also down from the previous week.
Following this, Karimun examined 968 specimens per week, Sumenep 961 specimens per week, and Indragiri Hulu 914 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 134 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 225 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Sikka (981 specimens), Karimun (968 specimens), and Indragiri Hulu (914 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
