Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 144 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data from Tuesday, November 22, 2022, shows a national average of 157.38 specimens per week.
The top five cities with the highest number of specimens examined per week are Padang (982 specimens), Mojokerto (971 specimens), Kupang (968 specimens), Kudus (966 specimens), and Mataram (925 specimens).
Padang ranks first. With a population of 997,360, it recorded 982 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 8.24 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Mojokerto. In its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, it examined 971 specimens per week. The positive rate in this region is 16.35 percent, also lower than the previous week's percentage.
Kupang examined 968 specimens per week, Kudus 966 specimens per week, and Mataram, with a population of 527,540, examined 925 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 147 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 160 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, areas with the highest number of specimens examined include Padang (982 specimens), Kupang (968 specimens), and Mataram (925 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
